SM Entertainment’s highly anticipated girl group Red Velvet will be making their hot debut sooner than expected. The few days it seemed as SM has showered media sites with tons of teasers for the group to make way for their debut. Now their debut date has been revealed, as of August 1st. Members Irene, Joy, Seulgi, and Wendy will be taking over “Music Bank’s” stage to perform their debut track “Happiness”.
“Music Bank” won’t be their only stop, the girls has a full schedule ahead of them after “Music Bank” they will be performing MBC’s “Music Core” on the 2nd followed by SBS’ “Inkigayo” on the 3rd. Their track is expected to lift some spirits with its urban tribal beat and electric pop sound.
SM revealed a bit about Red Velvet’s sound stating “Just like how red velvet reminds people of a soft, feminine touch, along with some passionate feelings from the color red, we have high hopes that the group will mesmerize the world with some sophisticated music and performances.” This is SM’s first rookie group in 2 years, the last group being EXO.
“Happiness” will be available for digital download at 12pm KST on August 4th.
