Red Velvet has returned with their 2nd track “Be Natural,” featuring Taeyong from SR14B.
Holy Cow! This is what I wanted from Red Velvet, not that song that was their first release. I did not like “Happiness.” “Be Natural” should have been their debut song this entire time.
So sound-wise ,”Be Natural” reminds me of 1990’s R&B, I am talking groups like “En Vogue” or “SWV” . Which translates to exceptional vocals, dancing skills, and confidence to back it all up. This group, and the group that debut earlier this year, are like two completely different groups.
I really did like everything about the video, and the choreography is what you would expect from their management group. I liked how they danced with the chairs instead of dancing awkwardly around them. The rap section from rookie Taeyong was good too. I just hope they are able to continue with this momentum with their next release.
The only thing I disliked about this music video was the over-editing; the filters and lens flares are distracting. But if that’s all there is to complain about, then that’s a good thing. No, it doesn’t bother me that his is a remake. K-Pop is full of them, and you can check out some of the best ones here.
I hope this music video goes towards silencing the trolls and haters that questions the legitimacy and talent of this group. So what do you think of the song? Leave your thoughts and comments below. Stay with Officially KMusic for the latest Korean music and news.
