After ten years under Woollim Entertainment, Nell has decided to not renew their contract and venture off onto a new path together.
Having debuted in 1999 but joined the Woollim family in 2006, Jongwan, Jaekyong, Junghoon, and Jaewon have released few handful of albums and singles throughout the years under their previous agency and now are ready for a different kind of adventure. According to a rep with Woollim, “Even though we are no longer working together, we will still support and cheer the band on their future projects.”
The four men have promised to come back later this year with a new album but under their own label called Space Bohemian.
Nell got their name from the 1994 movie starring Jodie Foster and have made a name for themselves with their gloomy and psychedelic sound. Having won numerous awards throughout the years, and even performing at SXSW, a music festival that has increasingly grown and expanded across the oceans, Nell is definitely here to stay.
I am excited to see what their next album will sound like under their own label. What do you think of the news? Tell us your thoughts.
