Roy Kim, winner of singing competition “Superstar K4” in 2012, is back with his second studio album, “Home,” and is giving fans a chance to hear the majority of the album online, as well as 2 music videos to watch and enjoy!
Released on October 7th, the first gift the singer bestows upon us is the music video for the song, “Nothing Lasts Forever.” The song is absolutely beautiful, with simple piano and guitar accompaniment, allowing for Roy’s voice to really shine through and get the attention it deserves. The video itself is quite simple, featuring stunning shots of aurora borealis in the night sky from different angles, including some breath-taking shots of nature in the process. Give it a look below:
The singer has also released 7 of the tracks on the album as uploads on the CJENMMUSIC Official YouTube. Being able to listen to full tracks for free is a rare commodity nowadays, so be sure to take advantage and give these songs a good listen. The first track uploaded is his song, “When Autumn Comes.” This is a delicately wonderful acoustic track, featuring strings in the background. Roy’s voice soars above it, and this hauntingly beautiful melody is sure to win your heart. Check it out:
Next up is the track “If You Love Me.” This is a bit more of an upbeat track, with hints of electric guitar and a running, wistful accompaniment. The music builds along with his vocals, and it’s truly enjoyable to just relax and sway to. Give it a listen:
The next upload is entitled “Thank You,” which is the album’s bonus track. This is another soft, acoustic track, with a lilting melody that steadily builds. Bottom line, the man’s voice is just soothing and gorgeous, you just want to melt into a puddle on the floor. Here’s “Thank You:”
Next on the chopping block is “Far Away,” another one that’s a bit on the slower side. This has a feel of a song that you would break out a lighter for, hold it lit high in the air and throw your arm around your friend, moving gently back and forth. See what you think:
We come to the next track, “Now I Know,” which takes another turn in the upbeat direction. This one is reminiscent of a folk song, with rousing acoustic guitar accompaniment and soothing harmonies. Here it is:
Next up is “Curtain.” Another easy-going, upbeat track with a running guitar accompaniment throughout. This one has a nice build-up also, and makes me think of the coursing waters of a river, flowing constantly and steadily. Let’s see what it makes you think of:
And now, we come to the final upload track, “Hold On.” Another soft track, Roy’s voice proves soothing once again. I feel like I’m being wrapped in a cozy blanket of sound, safe from the world, cocooned by his beautiful tone. Do you feel the same?
Last but not least, Roy has gifted us with a second music video, that of the title track, “Home.” The music video shows several different life scenes; some showing people at their worst, and some at their best, but in the end, everyone comes together and all is well. Roy observes it all, and discovers his own sense of home. This song is just as lovely as the rest of the album, with a heartfelt message. Give it a look below:
