The wait is over and Royal Pirates have returned with their new track “Love Toxic.” Despite the fact the teaser for the music video was vague it was pretty spot on when it comes to the actual music video.
From the opening guitar riffs it is quite obviously Royal Pirates – these guys have a pretty distinct sound. The best way I know to describe it is funky rock with 80’s electric pop mixed in. The song has all the makings of an end of summer jam, catchy, up beat, and you can dance to it. Royal Pirates have to be one of my favorite Korean bands easily so I was happy when I heard that the group’s sound had not changed.
The music video itself picks up where the teaser leaves us – the guys are at a club preforming. The rest of the music video shows the guys out chatting up some girls and drinking. In fact poor Moon has a drink in his hand throughout most of the music video. Someone needs to tell him not to mix his booze like that because in reality nothing good can come of this.
So when Moon is not preforming, drinking, or chatting he is looking for the mystery girl. As she walks around the club people are looking at her – some look happy, some look envious and other wonder. Poor Moon has no luck finding her until towards the end of the music video were she ends up on stage with band where she does that strange sway music video dancing.
I think it goes without saying that I added this song to my playlist right away. Like I said ealier this another summertime – anytime hit. So check it out and leave your comments below.
