As many are already aware, SM Entertainment revealed not long ago that TVXQ’s Yunho would be enlisting in the army sometime this year. Not long ago, sources came out claiming that it was highly likely that he would be going in sometime in August. However, nothing has been officially confirmed, and SM has spoken out about these claims.
We’ve known for some time now that it was only a matter of time before Yunho would have to serve his time on active duty. Previously, all that’s been said officially is sometime before the end of 2015. This speculation may have something to do with the fact that his new drama, “I Order You,” is to start airing mid-June. It would be natural to think that Yunho would start preparing to leave sometime after that. However, SM is still holding fast to their earlier statement.
Their response is thus, “Yunho’s enlistement date has not been set yet. But he will begin active service within this year.” So, in essence, basically the exact same thing they said before. So at this point, we don’t really know anything more than we already did. Will it be August? Or perhaps a bit later? Only time will tell.
TVXQ will most likely be very busy up until Yunho has to leave, as they’ve already announced encore dates for their “TVXQ! SPECIAL LIVE TOUR – T1ST0RY” concert, which will take place in Seoul on June 13th and 14th. The most important thing we as fans can do is treasure every moment we have with Yunho while he’s here, and be prepared to offer him every blessing when the time finally does come for him to do his duty.
