It has been almost a year since we last heard from 2013 rookie’s Say Yes. Debuting back in July with the song “It Feels Good” the boys joined the small number of K-Pop idol bands.
With the youngest member being born in 1994 (Junhyoung) and the oldest 1985 (HoKyung), the 5 boys of Say Yes have an impressive 10 year age range. They also have a wide range of years when it comes to training and being part of the band.
Sungkyu has actually been a part of Music Factory, their label, for over 10 years, while Si On has trained for 2 years prior to their debut. Subin actually used to write music before becoming a trainee, so let’s hope we will get a chance to see him compose down the road.
The band’s name also has a special meaning, “saying positivity“, something that is both important for the band to do, in this fiercly competitive industry, and something that is an important message to pass on to everyone.
It was proably especially important at the time of their debut. Many compared them to CNBLUE, and it was not always in a pleasing light. Yet Hokyung, Sungkyu, Junhyoung, Subin and Si On responded to those comparisions to their Sunbae‘s with grace. Being thankful that they could debut because of the path that CNBLUE has laid down ahead of them and honored to be compared to such a popular group.
While some may compare Say Yes to CNBLUE, this group most definitly has its own flavour. With all the members being singers and even incorporating a Djembe, a traditional West African hand drum, into the mix the group attempts to offer a new spin on an old favorite.
They continue to show their own flavor and style with the release of the teaser for their comeback track “Get Out“. Compared to their debut with “It Feels Good’, “Get Out” can almost be consider a polar opposite. With whistles and a snare drum the song definitly has the making of one that will have you on your feet jumping to the beat.
You can have a listen to the teaser for yourself below while we wait for the full music video to be released, hopefully, soon.
And in case this quick teaser wet your appetite for some more Say Yes you can check out this live performance of “It Feels Good”.
