Monster rookies, Seventeen of Pledis Entertainment, are showing they are a force to be reckon with as they have announced a new comeback for April and will present their first full length album.
Since before their debut, the 13 member group has been on-the-go with various behind-the-scene videos of the Pledis trainees and just before their official debut, Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan. They stepped into the idol realm on May 26 after the reality show ended and held their first showcase. On May 29, they released their first mini album and the music video for ‘아낀다 (Adore U)’.
Not long after they released their second mini album ‘Boys Be’ and performed on numerous end-of-the-year award shows just cementing their talent. In December, they held their first solo album ‘Boys Wish’ which sold out in mere moments and encore performances with added to fill the demand. Between the all that, Seventeen became the youngest idol group to star on MBC Music’s One Fine Day.
Now, as a Valentine’s Day gift to the fans, they have their official fandom name: Carats, and are still recording videos for their YouTube while working on special projects like the vocal unit presenting ‘Chocolate’, and ‘Q&A’ from a small unit consisting of Vernon, Woozi, and S.Coups.
With the announcement of a new album, these self-producing idols continue to grow their discography and it hasn’t even been a year yet. The 13 boys just celebrated their 300th day since debut. Seungkwan, Hoshi, The8, Dino, DK, Jeonghan, Jun, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Joshua, Vernon, S.Coups, and Woozi continue to show their teamwork their three units working as one. It has been said that the album is in the final stages but the title track has yet to be decided.
It also looks like the group is gearing up to debut in Japan soon, like their older brother group Nu’est, as a new Seventeen Japan Twitter account was opened along with a website.
Last year, the group won seven major rookie awards out of the 11 they were nominated for. As a proud Carat myself, I am loving where this group is going. Being able to produce everything their self from the music, lyrics, and choreography really makes each thing they do truly their own. Are you excited about the new comeback and a possible Japanese debut soon? We want to know!
