On August 3rd, an informant from SEVENTEEN‘s management agency: Pledis Entertainment, disclosed their plans for Mingyu due to his recent back injury. They said:
“Despite suffering from a back injury, Mingyu will be attending his planned schedules. Even though his back muscle had been shocked, the medical aide informed us that it wasn’t severe. But for the time being, Mingyu will be getting the rest he needs. The injury is presently improving, but for now, we will have to wait and see. We will do everything we can to make sure that he returns in good health and condition.”
On SEVENTEEN‘s official Twitter, Mingyu personally addressed fans in regards to his injury. He says:
“Hello, it’s Mingyu. I was contemplating about whether I should write something or not, but I am because so many of you were so concerned. I am both remorse and upset because I felt like I am causing harm to all the fans and members who have been waiting.”
The member clears up on his participation in SEVENTEEN’s upcoming concert in Japan, he says, “I just kind of threw my back out, but I believe it’s fine now. However the agency insists to consider it as long term. The members have also commented saying that it’s okay and have been considerate, so I will be part of the concert; but might skip out on a few performances with difficult choreography. I’m sure it was a performance that you were really looking forward to, so I apologize and regret not being more careful. I hope to recover quickly, so that I can show you a decent performance. I am sorry for making you all worry.”
Rest up well and hoping you have a swift recovery, Mingyu!
