SF9 have made a successful comeback with their fifth mini-album ‘Sensuous‘ and the title track ‘Now or Never‘.
‘Now or Never‘ has been described as a sensuous electronic song that is based on progressive/dark pop that has been trending out of the English music scene lately. Make of that description what you will, but what I can tell you is that this is a major step forward for the group and could very-well prove to be a turning point in their career.
The song was written by Daniel Kim and Al Swettenham, with lyrics by Han Sung Ho, Park Ji Yeon, Goo Ji Eun and Alex.
As we have seen from the multitude of teasers, the group have taken on a mature, sexy concept for this comeback which is fitting for this title track where they are singing about the fiery and mixed emotions of love.
The song kicks off with a warped synth intro that is joined by an addictive funk beat that persists throughout the song, however, the drums and bass lines are never far away. However, things are stepped up a notch when the song hits the pre-chorus with a soul-shaking electro thump which when combined with the rhythm guitar gives the song a truly sensuous (like what I did there) feel!
The accompanying music video fits the mood and concept of the song. The choreography is meant to portray SF9 as ‘sensuous sexy’ which I think they achieved!
