SHINee has spent the latter part of this year in Japan, on their SHINee World 2014 “I’m Your Boy” hall and arena tour, and all concerts went off without a hitch! They held their final performances on December 13th and 14th in Kobe World Memorial Hall in Hyogo, and roughly 16,000 fans joined to help them celebrate the end of a successful run.
The tour, which began in Chiba on September 28th, included stops all over Japan at a grand total of 20 cities, and 30 shows in all. Over 200,000 fans total were in attendance, which is a mind-blowing number. Some of the stops included Shizuoka, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Saitama, and many more. The shows were chock-full with plenty of their hit songs, as well as tracks off their brand new release, “I’m Your Boy,” which dropped on September 24th. Needless to say, SHINee has been a force to be reckoned with in Japan over the past few months.
The tour also brought some happy developments in its’ wake. Shawols got some rather exciting news at their show in Hiroshima, that the boys had been invited to perform at the Tokyo Dome in March. This was definitely the pinnacle of their tour experience, and fans all over were delighted. Also, two birthdays were celebrated while they were making their rounds, that of Minho on December 9th, and then leader Onew on the 14th, at their final show. Both boys were sufficiently “caked,” and made to perform a small birthday dance solo for the fans. Though it’s apparent that SHINee had a lot of fun at all of their performances, now is the time for a much needed break, and preparation for what’s to come.
All in all, though the boys have not had as strong a presence in Korea this year as they typically do, they’ve certainly still stayed busy and managed to accomplish many great things. We look forward to their Tokyo Dome performances on March 14th and 15th, and no doubt SHINee will amaze the fans who are lucky enough to attend. Hopefully, we’ll get to see them be a bit more active in their homeland as well. But for now, we hope that they get lots of sleep, eat lots of food, and take it easy. You’ve earned it, boys!
