Key has pushed back his performance as Clyde in the musical adaption of ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ due to schedule conflict. The musical was set for October 10th as opening night but due to SHINee’s upcoming album release that has changed.
Representatives of M Musical Art made a statement on their website regarding the sudden cancelation, “Key, who plays the role of ‘Clyde,’ is preparing to come back with SHINee’s fifth mini album ‘Everybody.’ Because of conflicting music show schedules, we decided to change the date of the musical.” They have postponed the performance until October 25th.
Musicals usually have multiple castings for the same role, this made fans question this unusual mishap. It’s very unheard-of to cancel an entire production because of one actors inconvenience.
The M Musical Art representative also stated, “We did it out of consideration for the audience. As most people who had purchased tickets for the show are fans of Key, we decided that it is right to change the date of the performance. Decision to cancel the show was reached after discussing the matter with Key’s agency SM Entertainment a few weeks ago. As the fans who reserved their tickets two weeks ago have been informed of the altered schedule, we believe there won’t be any problems.”
SHINee is set to perform their new single ‘Everybody’ on a special performance at the ‘2013 Gangnam Hallyu Festival.’
