It was officially announced that Shinhwa Company has changed its name to ShinCom Entertainment.
This change is a result of a lawsuit Shinhwa Company has been in with Jun Media – the rightful owner of the name ‘Shinhwa.’ The legendary K-Pop group was forced to change the trademark in the album jackets in future albums, as well as to delete the name Shinhwa from their 11th album, which they released last year. From now on the albums will be covered only by Shinhwa’s logo, and not the name. As they cannot use the name Shinhwa anymore, they decided to change the name of the company to prevent for future trademark issues.
The lawsuit is still on-going, but ShinCom Entertainment’s representative stated that they will do all they can do protect the name Shinhwa.
We hope Shinhwa will be able to use their name without any limits again.
