OMG, the drama! BTS is one of the most popular boy bands in the world, with sold out world tours, international awards, and a fan base that literally lives up to their name: ARMY. Having extremely loyal fans comes with its own pro’s and con’s. For example, on 18th October, Singaporean radio DJ and Youtuber Dee Kosh made a comment about BTS‘ songs. He said “Unpopular opinion: BTS’s songs all sound the same. I need something fresh! come on now“. This is when he received hate from ARMY’s. He shared a video where he claims ‘Idol‘ and ‘Not Today’ have the same beat.

After receiving extreme hate from the ARMYs who flooded his twitter account with malicious comments, sent him threat emails and contacted his boss, Dee claimed of losing his Youtube channel, which took a toll on his career. Disgruntled by this, he posted a video on twitter crying and complaining about the unnecessary hate ARMYs have been giving him.

In the video, he says “I don’t understand the hate that I’m getting for giving my opinion, It was just my opinion. If you don’t like it, just move on! Why are you guys so toxic?”. This isn’t the first time Dee Kosh has come under the ARMY bomb, in December 2017 Dee Kosh was accused of claiming that ”BTS got plastic surgery” in an behind-the-stage interview video with Shawn Mendes.
However, the drama took an unexpected turn when Dee Kosh posted a youtube video claiming that the whole drama was staged by him. It was apparently a part of his social experiment to prove the “toxic-mob mentality” that is growing on social media.
