The cast for the upcoming musical “Singing in the Rain” has been announced, and though SHINee‘s Onew was previously reported to be one of the leads, his name does not appear on the final list.
For the leading role of Don Lockwood, the actors are currently listed as EXO‘s Baekhyun, Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, and TRAX‘s Jay. In regards to Onew’s exclusion from the final list, a production rep has stated the following: “We’ve continuously been discussing the casting of Onew, but there are still internal things that need to be worked out. While the lineup has been released, following discussion, Onew could still join the cast.”
On the inclusion of TRAX’s Jay, another official said that Jay was originally going to be a member of the cast.
The show is set to run from June 5th to August 3rd, and will also star Girls’ Generation‘s Sunny in the lead female role.
