The date for Yesung‘s enlistment has been announced.
SM Entertainment had confirmed the enlistment date for the Super Junior member through an official press release. They confirmed that Yesung will be enlisting in the army on May 6th to attend a 4-week basic military training then will be serving as a public service officer for 23 months. The label also stated that Yesung wants to enlist quietly and he wishes that there will be no sending-off event.
We can still remember that Yesung already hinted the fans about his enlistment during their recent ‘Super Show 5‘ as he said, “I was a trainee for 5 years, and I was with fans as a Super Junior member for 8 years. I am thankful for all the love. I’d forgotten how precious it was to sing on stage. I realized only now how much it means. While I’m not here, please take care of the Super Junior members. Please don’t forget about me.”
Yesung will still be attending his schedules before the enlistment date and will be spending some time for himself. But unfortunately, he will not be with the group on their concert in South America due to the laws that prevents him to go to other countries before the enlistment.
