Recently, SM Entertainment’s founder, Lee Soo Man, held a conference outlining some of the new projects to come under SM. Under the label of New Culture Technology, one of the many new ideals is a different way to reach fans all over the world. SM’s idea is to create a new boy group so remarkable, it will change the concept of artist groups in the future.
The group is being marketed under NCT (Neo Culture Technology). Lee Soo Man explained that this new group will have various units that target regions from around the world such as Japan, China, Southeast Asia and Latin America to name a few. Each group will have no set amount of members and members can move from unit to unit increasing or decreasing the number as well.
We get to see a brief introduction to the concept in two videos labeled ‘The Origin’ and ‘Synchronization Of Your Dreams’ that were released on Naver. Check them out below!
The first unit is set to debut in spring of this year with a concentration in Korea and Japan for the first half. The second unit will be revealed after that with an eye on China. From there a new groups and new members will be added with an infinite amount of possibilities.
The first video was pretty breathtaking to me. I felt like I was watching a trailer for a new movie and the instrumental was astounding, I got goosebumps. It definitely pumped up my anticipation for this new idea. The second video was appealing with the showcasing of some members: TaeYong, Hansol, Ten, Mark, and JaeHyun from SR16B under SMRookies and their amazing dance moves. The song was super catchy and loved the R&B vibe from it, but was unable to find information on it at this time.
If you could imagine the fanboy squeal I made when I saw these videos you would understand how excited I am for this. What video did you enjoy? We want to hear your thoughts.
