SM Entertainment held a huge press conference to reveal some of the new projects coming up for their company in 2016. The first announcement revealed a new digital idea called ‘Station’ project, which is the first S.M Digital Music Station showcasing artists under the SM label with a new digital every week for fifty two weeks.
SMTOWN: New Culture Technology (NCT) conference held on January 27 at the Seoul Gangnam-gu SM Atrium with Lee Soo Man presenting.
He explained the ‘Station Project’ as “We will be launching a station where we will release a digital once a week at a fixed time for 52 weeks […] overcoming the existing system of singles, mini albums, and regular albums, we will create a new ecosystem of digital songs.”
“Furthermore”, Lee Soo Man added, “we are planning unconventional attempts on collaboration of not only within our own artists but also with artists from the outside too.” He continued to go with announcing that the first artist to release on the ‘Station’ project would be TaeYeon with ‘Rain’.
You can check out the teaser for ‘Rain’ below.
This new project sounds super exciting and I can’t wait to see who releases songs along with the different styles that will come from it. TaeYeon’s new song sounds promising, especially since her solo album was amazing. Are you excited for this new project as well? Let us know!
