SM Entertainment has created a new joint company, “Everysing Japan,” in order to multiply its digital music sales and distributions in Japan.
SM CEO Lee Soon Man met up with Japanese music companies Avex Group and Universal Music Japan, working together to create the new company. A celebratory ceremony was held on April 30th between Soo Man, CEO of Avex Shinji Hayashi, and CEO of Universal Music Japan Naoshi Fujikura. The company’s first order of business will be the launch of the karaoke “everysing” app in Japan,which is set for sometime in September. This app allows fans to sing and record, as well as submit auditions.
In regards to the establishment of “Everysing Japan,” Naoshi Fujikura stated: “By expanding ‘everysing’ in Japan, we hope to provide a new form of entertainment by using the company’s ample musical repertoire to suit people’s lifestyle. We will be working hard with SM and AVI in order to provide service that can satisfy the expectation of many people.” The companies are excited to present a new business model and promote the digital lifestyle in Asia.
