Top K-Pop groups rank high the Oricon Sales Yearly Ranking for 2012.
On December 19th, Oricon released their yearly ranking for sales in 2012. Japanese girl group, AKB48 topped the chart with 1.9 billion yen, while K-Pop group Girls’ Generation, who focused on their Japanese promotions this year, placed 4th on the chart with 433 million yen (approx. 5 million USD) in sales. They were the highest among K-Pop groups for this year.
KARA was the second K-Pop group to rank in the top 10, garnering 341 million yen (approx. 4 million USD) coming in 9th place. TVXQ was the third K-Pop group on the list, in 17th place, with 240 million yen (approx. 2.8 million USD) in sales. BigBang was ranked 19th, and Super Junior 31st with 223 million yen and 126 million yen respectively.
Other K-Pop artists such as T-ARA, 2PM, CNBLUE, FT ISLAND and Infinite was also included in the chart.
