Song Joong Ki to Serve in the Military Under the 22nd Division

It has been revealed that actor Song Joong Ki has been assigned to serve under the 22nd Division search battalion.

Senior officials from the 22nd Division announced, “We’ve confirmed with the recruit training battalion, and Song Joong Ki will be assigned to the 22nd Division search battalion. His attitude towards training is great, and his class grades are excellent as well.”

They continued, “Due to the nature of the search battalion, there are special classes that must be completed. Therefore his assignment isn’t final. For now, we just know that he will be assigned to the search battalion, but there is a chance that he could be transferred to another division within the battalion.”

Song Joong Ki finalized his decision to join the army by enlisting on August 27th and is currently in his 5th week of basic training alongside his fellow recruits from the 22nd Division.  After his basic training ends on October 10th, he will then attend 3 additional weeks of further practices.

He will then serve his mandatory service in the army and will be released on May 26th, 2015.
