It is always sad when a group disbands or when members leave a group such as T-ARA, 2PM, or TVXQ!. But to fans a group lives on in their hearts no matter what the artists accomplish or where their ambitions take them. And now it has been released that Chi Chi a.k.a. Creative Electronic House Idols has disbanded after much internal conflict.
On March 18, 2011 Chi Chi made their debut, and with so much talent and a vast amount of fans, they were almost able to gain the status of K-POP royalty- that was how bright their future looked. The group was to originally be an eight member group, but later is was changed to seven while they were under the direction of Trophy Entertainment. The group Chi Chi was comprised of Kim So Lee, Lee Ji Ah, Park Se Mi, Baek So Young, and Lee Bo Reum.
The group reached new heights and it seemed unlikely that the band would ever break up but nothing was ever set in stone. The former members have been very quiet regarding their separation, it was only revealed after a series of people began tweeting asking questions of the group like: “what happened to Chi Chi“, and “What are the girls in the group doing”, etc. The agency simply finally revealed, after much speculation, “they have disbanded”. It is very uncertain as to why the group disbanded and what caused the rift; things like this happen everyday and they will either become solo artists, actors or join another group. The question is now a matter of when, and the answer remains uncertain.
Though the group had success with their music and on stage they seemed to have it have all together, their was tension behind the image they built. The girls were not happy, maybe not a match made in heaven like SNSD or BIG BANG. Maybe there was not enough time to create a bond that would create a family-like unit like many well-known groups have such as Super Junior and EXO. Chi Chi constantly went through changes with members leaving making the group smaller. The former members of the group were Yoon Hye Won, Son Jung Ae, and Lee Joon Ji; and no one but the company knows why the girls in question left. The entertainment company couldn’t find talented singers to replace the ones leaving so the group disbanded.
No matter what their music will be loved and remembered for what it was. Maybe in a few years there will either be a reunion or a tell all. No one knows, but for the fans there will always be that small amount of hope that no matter what they go on to do eventually Chi Chi will reunite on one stage for fans to reminisce, and if we’re lucky the girls will reunite under a new label for a new album. Us fans can only hope.
