It surely was six long years but they are finally back! SS301, SS501’s sub-unit consiting of members Young Saeng, Kyu Jong, and Hyung Jun, are back with not one, but five music videos and Triple Ss around the world couldn’t be happier!
SS301, previously referred to as ‘SS501’s special project group’, was formed in 2008 with Heo Young Saeng as the leader. They were supposed to be called ‘Triple S’ after their fanclub, but they decided to stick to SS501 in order to respect the two absent members, Park Jungmin and Kim Hyun Joong, who were busy with their solo activities as actors.
The sub-unit released their album, titled ‘U R Man,’ and its title song was featured in the popular Korean drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’. Additionally, the album included the members’ first solo songs ‘Is It Love?’, ‘Never Let You Go,’ and ‘I Am’.
When SS501 went on hiatus in 2010, fans were worried that it would take them few years to get back together for a comeback. But no one thought it would be as long as six years to finally hear from the boys!
SS301 returned with their new album ‘ETERNAL 5’ hinting that even though they are currently promoting as a trio, SS501 will remain a five-member group. The album consists of five songs: ‘Dirty Love,’ title song ‘Pain,’ ‘21 Gram,’ ‘Saxophone,’ and ‘바빠서 미안해 (Sorry, Too Busy),’ as well as two instrumental tracks for ‘Pain’ and ‘21 Gram.’
CI Entertainment, SS301’s new agency, prepared a special gift for fans, and released a music video for each of the song on the album. You can watch them all below:
The members worked really hard for the album, and it shows in the music videos, the choreography and the songs themselves. The album is a great mix of styles but it still has the SS501-feeling to it Triple S fell in love with 11 years ago.
SS301 held their comeback showcase at Art Hall of Lotte Card Art Center on February 15. It was revealed that the tickets for the concert sold out within three minutes.
The wait is finally over. Make sure to let us know what do you think about SS301 long awaited comeback in the comments and stay tuned to Officially KMusic for more exciting news!
