Leader of boy group INFINITE has voiced his thoughts on his recent solo debut.
Sunggyu recently met with a reporter prior to his performance on KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ and said, “I’m really happy for a solo album that I’ve been working hard on for a long time to be released. I’m also very happy to be able to let everyone listen to new music.”
Sunggyu is the first to debut solo of the group INFINITE, he added this to the previous statements, “I can’t say that I don’t have any burdens. But because of the fact that I’m able to show a new side of me, my anticipation is larger than my burdens.”
The early released song “Shine“, from his solo album titled, “Another Me“, is a song that was given to him by someone he looks up to, Nell’s Kim Jonghwan. The song appeals to Sunggyu and Jonghwan’s fans.
Sunggyu also went on to talk about his feelings about his role model, “I went over to Nell’s recording studio not too long ago and the hyungs said one phrase of, ‘You’re doing well, right?’, but I gained an immense amount of strength from it. I visited them after finishing Infinite’s concert in Japan, but I was really thankful to hear that one phrase of ‘Are you doing well’ even if it may seem like nothing.”
He was also asked about what his reaction was to his fan’s statements about him being a fan of Nell. “I think those words are right.” “I still like Nell’s music and I’m still a fan of Nell’s music. It’s definitely not something to be embarrassed about.”
Finally, he was asked why Nell was his role model and he replied with, “They are people I admire. They are the people who allowed me to like music ever since I was younger.”
Sunggyu’s recent solo album has been getting a lot of attention. Fans are enjoying it greatly.
Sunggyu will be promoting for 3 weeks. ‘60 Seconds’, was last performed at KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’.
