During the past few days, after the announcement about Super Junior‘s Sungmin‘s upcoming wedding, some fans started to notice that his autograph didn’t quite look the same as it did in the past.
It seems that before the rumors came out, he used to put a star on top of his signature, and now has started to write something similar to “Mi” instead. This led many fans to believe that the “Mi” refers to his fiancée’s nickname, and so the controversies began.
To begin with, there’s no way of knowing that it’s really Kim Sa Eun‘s nickname, especially because it doesn’t have anything to do with her real name at all. Even if the fans are right, though, what does it matter if he changed his autograph to add his fiancée’s nickname?
Netizens believe, though, that it was an extremely disrespectful act and that he went too far. Some of them think that it’s unfair to give different autographs to different fans as well.
After his wedding announcement, Sungmin and his future wife have been attacked a lot by supposed fans who are unhappy with his engagement. It’s a pity for both of them, who are trying to be happy together, and it’s also a shame to criticize an engaged couple when so many bad things are happening in the K-Pop world.
It may be a bad thing that Sungmin decided to add Kim Sa Eun’s nickname to his autograph since they’re in such a difficult situation, but do we really have the right to judge if he is right or wrong for doing it?
What are your thoughts on this situation and about their engagement as a whole?
