On July 26th, SUNYE dropped the music video to her solo debut title track, ‘Just A Dancer’. Dropping the pre-release track ‘Glass Heart’ one week prior, she also simultaneously has now released the debut mini album, ‘Genuine’.
Hailing from the famed girl group, Wonder Girls, this solo debut was long anticipated. Since debuting in 2006, she has sung a number of OSTs (for example, ‘Maybe’ from KBS2‘s ‘Dream High’). Last year, she participated in tvN‘s survival show, ‘Mama The Idol’, which focused on former idols that left the industry and became mothers. Returning as a unit, the formed group, M.M.D, with Sunye headed as main vocal with the single, ‘WooAh HIP’. This followed in February this year when she signed a contract with LOONA‘s label, Blockberry Creative.
The track runs as a dark dance track that exemplifies the rich tone of the vocalist. Its beat drop hits sweetly, transitioning to a beat that emits slight danger. Accordingly, the accompanying music video showcases the elegant and sophisticated dance routine performed by the soloist and backup dancers. Predominantly black sets centre all attention to the singer, making her way with full charisma.
