SM Entertainment have uploaded the full music video for Super Junior M’s latest comeback with “Swing” onto their Youku channel.
The video seems to be done in the same style as Exo’s “Growl” and Girls Generation’s “Mr.Mr” where they make it look like it was done in one take. Super Junior M use the camera zooming into a white shirt and throwing a suit jacket over the camera to aide in the illusion.
The concept is pretty neat actually with the boys starting off as “salary men” and none of them seeing to be content at the workplace. After a few seconds of watching each member we pan to the boys arranged around two rows of desks and the song kicks in!
Throwing paper in the air and dancing on chairs Super Junior M really show some neat aspects to the dance for the new song straight from the start. As the camera pans around the desks we are next treated to some nice synchronized choreography. The boys move clear of the desks and remove their suit jackets and move onto the next section. The group has broken in two and give us to separate dance groups as the songs beat starts to change. As we zoom into the front of a white shirt and back out again the tempo of the song changes drastically and we are introduced to the dance break of the song. It almost has a transformers-esque feel with dance moves to match. As paper falls from the ceiling obscuring our view momentarily the tempo of the song changes once more and slows right down. The boys croon along to the slower tempo for a couple seconds and than the song builds back up again and Super Junior M haul out handkerchiefs to use as props in the dance.
Even though the song goes through some drastic changes in tempo SM manages to make the song not seem disjointed unlike other attempts at the style. I’m not going to say anything else about the video, it has a pretty cute ending and I don’t want to spoil it.
So make sure you check out the video below and let us know what you think of Super Junior M’s latest comeback.
