Super Junior member Kangin was involved in a hit and run DUI case recently and is currently being investigated.
On 24th around 2 a.m, Kangin’s car collided with a street light pole in-front of a store in Sinsa – dong, Seoul. According to reports, Kangin hadn’t been around when police arrived at the location after the incident was informed. However, later in the morning, he appeared at the police station to report that his car was damaged, where he had been questioned. He has claimed that although he remembers hitting something, he thought was a curb and was not aware that it was the street light pole. Also, Kangin’s blood alcohol level was high enough to get his licence suspended.
This is not the first time Kangin has been through this situation either. Back in 2009, he faced a similar incident where he collided with a taxi which was parked at a halt, driving drunk. He was fined for 8 million Korean won.
According to SM Entertainment, the artist is currently put on hiatus. Further the agency apologized on behalf of him.
The CCTV footage of the incident too is released. Hopefully, the investigations will end and there’ll be a final decision soon.
Let’s hope nothing will affect Kangin’s career and he will be forgiven for his repeated mistake. Anyhow, it would have been better if he never got involved in the first place. Let us know what do you think about this incident.
