An advertisement for Japanese game machines, or also known as Pachinko, has recently been spreading over the Korean web, with T-ara as the endorsement models, which has caused a lot of controversy. Especially since Core Contents Media‘s latest statement had to do with turning down alcohol endorsement deals to serve as a good role models for teenagers.
December 19th, a post called “T-ara’s Pachinko Ad” was made available stirring many comments from fans. Many think that through this ad, T-ara is endorsing gambling. Although the game’s object itself isn’t to gamble, the machines are widely used in Japan for gambling purposes.
The agency’s last statement and the decision to do this ad has made fans hypocritical.
Core Contents Media responded to the attention with, “While they did do the Pachinko advertisement, it is not for gambling. Well-known actors like Song Seung Hun and Bae Yong Joon have done Pachinko ads, as well as KARA.”
