This comeback has taken us on quite a ride. First, there was the excitement of a possible return of Taemin for the first time since his solo debut back in the fall of 2015. Then fans got antsy when there was the Japanese comeback for SHINee, but when Key confirmed that Taemin would definitely come back at one of the end-of-year programs, we knew it was a guarantee! What we were not anticipating was a comeback this big.
It started with the teaser images of Taemin sporting a style we had never seen on him before and pictures that were sensual and mature. When the promotion poster came out with over a week’s worth of goodies from a pre-release track, an official music video, two highlight medleys, and three performance videos, we had hit the jackpot! Not to mention teaser images being dropped every day, at random moments. SM Entertainment was not going light for this one.
To wrap it all up, Taemin finally released the last two videos, both are performance pieces to the title track of ‘Press Your Number’ which was written by the artist himself and produced by American producers Bruno Mars and Stereotypes. Both are set in two different locations in Los Angeles, and give off a different feel to them. Check them both out below!
‘Press It’ is a full length album with ten tracks. Taemin had a more of a closer hand in creating this album, assisting in not only composing the music but also writing lyrics for more than just the title track. He also turned to band mate, JongHyun of SHINee, to help with the album.
This album has a totally different feel than his solo debut. You can feel his years in the business and switching from being a young teenager to a mature adult. I already love the album but I didn’t think I wouldn’t anyways because I loved ‘Ace’. Which is your favourite track so far? Let us know!
