Taemin‘s solo debut has finally arrived! After weeks of teasing fans with charismatic photos and sexy teasers, the time has finally come for their reward!
With the news that SHINee won’t be having a Korean comeback this year (read about their Japanese album here), that left it all up to Taemin to keep the fans happy. He is universally known to be one of the best dancers in KPop, with an amazing voice to boot, and when it was announced he was going to have a solo debut it seemed sure to be one of the best of the summer. Now that the full video for “Danger” has been released, that has been proven to be a fact.
Before we talk about it, make sure you watch it here!
Holy Cow! From the first time I saw the teasers for this, I said that (and I quote) Taemin looked like an ‘attack nymph here to start a sex riot’ and this video definitely proves it! He’s kept his signature waifish look, but he now also really looks like a grown, charismatic man. His dancing is amazing as always, leading some of us here at Officially KMusic to compare him to the late, great Michael Jackson. It’s a common comparison when talking about Taemin. The song has a similar sound to the “Everybody” album and for me, that’s a good thing. There’s a mature sound to this song and yet it is still a signature Taemin song. The video manages to not be a typical SM “empty-box-with-flashing-lights” concept, but it still is a little lacking. My only complaint is, as usual, with the styling. That fake nose piercing with the two chains has got to go. It distracts from Taemin’s natural good-looks, and that alone is reason to remove it. As does the veil. I know Taemin is so handsome he could make anything look good, but I’m fairly sure a veil is beyond even him.
What did you think of the video and Taemin’s new style? Did you love it as much as we did? Were you looking forward to this release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
