On November 26, Taeyang was the feature solo artist at MTV Iggy ‘Music Experiment 2.0’ showcase concert in San Francisco. This was Taeyang’s first solo performance in the USA.
A few fans even lined up the night before hoping to be the first inside the venue as well as to catch a glimpse of him. Several fan sites, US and international, were even present to show their support and to pass out signs to fans waiting in line.
Choice37 was the opening artist and very interactive with the audience as he DJed some of the songs he had worked on. There might have even been a new G-Dragon song in the mix. The audience loved it. Taeyang and the band stealthily peeked in on the audience midway.
After a quick set change, it was time for the feature artist, Taeyang. He started off full energy and kept it going all the way through the set. The back up dancers were equally high energy and really added to the performance. Taeyang took the time to perform a new song for the audience hinting that it might be his new single. The concert was suppose only scheduled to go on for about 45 minutes with an encore song.
However, much to the delight of the audience when Taeyang came back out for his encore song he decided to keep going for another 45 minutes. He even asked the audience which songs they wanted him to sing and started off singing singing “Wedding Dress” and “I Need a Girl” acapella before the live band joined in. During the encore Taeyang sang several Big Bang songs, “Fantastic Baby” and “Bad Boy,” rapping some of the other member’s parts.
The showcase ended with Taeyang being presented an award by the city of San Francisco as a thank you. Taeyang’s Music Experiment Showcase concert will be available for fans starting on December 3rd.
