Like Ailee did previously, Yoon Do Hyun, a member of Korean rock band YB, sat down with 1theK to give us a listen to the songs on his MelOn playlist.
The singer talks about why he chose the songs on his playlist saying these were songs he listened to when he was young.
Some of the bands he included were Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Incubus, The Doors, and Deulgukhwa.
With their song “Please“, Yoon Do Hyun says Deulgukhwa was his role model, even to this day, and said he wanted to be like them. He also mentioned that he thought “all of the songs in their first album were hit songs”.
The Doors song he picked is called “Riders On The Storm“. Yoon Do Hyun labels this song as “bloody and psychedelic“, two words that are often applied to the American band. He became influenced by the band while living near an American army base after he received a video tape with The Doors’ performance on it.
Yoon Do Hyun also talks about how much he loves Foo Fighters and their song “Let It Die“. He was asked after he signed with an American management last year if he were to go on tour with one American band, who would Yoon Do Hyun pick, to which he responded with, “The Foo Fighters“.
