Though it took a little longer than anticipated, KPOPME has finally officially released the announcement of HyunA‘s North American solo tour!
HyunA will be bringing her new solo concept of “performance-oriented music” to North America with the continuation of “The Queen’s Back Tour”, a series of fan meeting and performance engagements started in Asia in late 2016. Over eight planned stops, fans can expect performances of her hits ‘Bubble Pop,’ ‘Ice Cream,’ ‘Red,’ and ‘How’s That,’ likely along with a few other songs. And if the Asian leg of the tour is any indication, we might also see some of of the segments North American fans have come to expect from fan meetings, like a Q&A session, games, and on stage chats with an MC and translator. With HyunA’s uniquely sexy style, it is sure to be an unforgettable show.
Formerly a member of Cube Entertainment’s girl group 4Minute, Hyuna began her solo career in 2010 with the single ‘Change,’ which performed so well on Korean charts that it earned a Streaming Award from the Gaon Chart Awards. She rapidly followed the solo debut up with a number of other digital singles including tracks with fellow KPop artists like G.NA and T-max’s Park Yunhwa. Her first major hit came in July of 2011 with ‘Bubble Pop,’ the title track off her first mini-album of the same name. ‘Bubble Pop’ earned a place on select lists from both Billboard and Spin Magazine, and gave HyunA her first Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Solo Dance Performance.
Troublemaker, her duo unit with BEAST member Hyunseung, debuted in December of 2011. In July of 2012 HyunA featured in Psy’s hugely viral music video, Gangnam Style. Later in 2012 she successfully released her second mini-album Melting with its title track ‘Ice Cream,’ which in turn featured Psy and which tied the then Kpop music video record of four days to reach ten million views. Followed by 2014’s album A Talk, 2015’s A+, and 2016’s A’wesome, HyunA has established herself as one of those rare Kpop female solo forces to be reckoned with.
