Yes, a lot of these I do are just pop, but today we’re gonna rock out with glam band, Eve.
Eve was created on Christmas Eve (hence the name) in 1997 by Seheon as the main vocalist and G.Gorilla as a secondary vocalist and composer. They debuted with their namesake album, “Eve” in August of 1998 with their title single, “Whenever You Feel,” which became a hit.
Their popularity would crawl upwards in 1999 when they released their second album, “Eros” of that year, and gained Park Woong as a guitarist and Kim Gun as bassist. They became official members a year later in April of 2000 when their third album, “Fly To You” was released.
The next year the band reached the peak of its popularity with their fourth album, “Swear.”
After that, the line up of the band began to change dramatically, and often, due to musical differences. Firstly, all the members left the band, but Seheon continued on, releasing a fifth album under Eve’s name, “Ever” in November of 2002.
In October of 2003, the band received new members, Jung Yuhwa and Ha Sebin along with Kim Seungjoo and Choi Minchang. Together with Seheon, they released their newly dark metal influenced sixth album, “Welcome to Planet Eve.” Due to the mounting attention the band was receiving at the time, they released their first DVD, “The History of Eve,” which featured live performances that took place in Seoul in 2004 along with a live album of the same name.
After a two year hiatus, the band once again changed their lineup, leaving Seheon and Sebin as the last members standing in May of 2006. They released their seventh album, “Seventh Evening,” which featured a remake of their debut single, “Whenever You Feel” to celebrate their band’s long history.
However, the band once again reformed not long afterwards in September 2007 when Sebin was replaced by Choi Kiho and the band’s first female member, Ikki came in as the bassist. The band released the eighth album, “Play Me.”
Once again, the band dissolved, leaving Seheon as the only member. However, past members Seungjoo and Yuhwa would occasionally support him during live performances, and still do to this day.
The latest releases of the band were in 2010, “Guy In Revolution” and “Gloria,” released in March and November respectively.
In 2012, Eve and Japanese visual kei rock group DuelJewel collaborated on the album, “Fusion,” which featured remastered hits from both artists in Korean and Japanese, as well as featuring new material. They held a live concert over the course of three days in Nagoya, Shinsaibashi and Shibuya that year.
As of right now, Eve’s frontman and current sole member Seheon is fronting a new band, The Hysteric5, an LA Glam metal band, whose lineup consists of former Eve guitarist, Jung Yuhwa and members Lee ‘Nick’ Yohan and Lee Changhyun.
Please Enjoy “Adrenaline Drive,” “Lover,” and “Beautiful Day.”
