On June 10 at 12 AM KST, ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ by Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany featuring AOMG rapper Simon Dominic was released.
The video begins with Tiffany looking bothered, secluded in a room. She pencils the word “heartbreak” in a journal, and then the song begins.
We see Tiffany enter a club with a smoky, drunken atmosphere. Has she just broken up with someone? Is she planning to meet someone? Although the reason is not clear, it is fun to speculate and fill in the missing pieces.
Tiffany involuntarily becomes the center of attention when she knocks over a glass, causing it to shatter on the floor. She captures the attention of a mysterious man, played by model Shon Minho, who uses his charms to beguile her. Once their eyes meet, their story begins.
As Tiffany sings about a relationship that was destined to end from the beginning, we see a montage of their relationship: the good, the bad, and the heartbreaking.
Is it just me or is this song addicting? The music video’s aesthetic appeal compliments Tiffany’s alluring vocals and Simon Dominic‘s eloquent rap.
The scene that strikes me the most was when Tiffany was seen hastily packing her suitcase. She finally realizes the severity of her situation and decides it is time to go. This left such an impression on me because it reminded me of a time when I was in a situation and I knew the best thing I could do was walk away and move on.
Heartbreak hurts, but the opportunity for healing is always there. Sometimes all we can do is remind ourselves that certain relationships do not work out, and most of the time, it is for the best.
