The top ten most viewed K-pop music videos of 2013 was revealed.
First place, undoubtedly, goes to PSY‘s ‘Gentleman,’ the highly anticipated sequel to his global hit ‘Gangnam Style.’ From its release in April to now, it has gathered over 453 million views.
Quite funnily, the second most-watched video is in Chinese, but by a Korean sub group. Super Junior‘s popular unit Super Junior-M drew in over 13 million views with their promotion song ‘Break Down.‘
4minute, the only girl group on the list, made third place with their catchy song, ‘What’s Your Name?’ published in April.
Coming in fourth is BIGBANG leader G-Dragon‘s crazy music video for ‘Michi Go,’ with over 8 million views, and following close behind is another sub-unit music video, ‘Gone, Not Around Any Longer’ by SISTAR19 with 7.7 million+ views.
Sixth place is BoA with her SM Entertainment labelmate Taemin in ‘Disturbance,’ with over 7.5 million views.
SHINee placed on the list twice, with their first sighting as seventh place with ‘Dream Girl.’ SHINee came back in 2013 with the first part of their album and their music video gathered more than 7.4 million views.
The only rookies on the list battled for 8th and 9th place, and B.A.P‘s earlier release ‘One Shot’ eventually beat out EXO’s ‘Wolf’ for 8th, and the latter received 9th place with their later release.
SHINee appeared again with their music video ‘Why So Serious?’ missing member Jonghyun but still rounding out the list with over 5.5 million views.
Which was your favorite video?
(Please note that Girls’ Generation‘ s ‘I Got A Boy’ did not make the list as it was released on December 31st of 2012.)
