On November 17th, TOY (Yoo Hee Yeol) released his first music video in what seems like ages. The music video, “Three People,” features Sung Si Kyung, and is the title track is off his first album in 7 years. De Capo, which means “from the beginning,” will feature some of Korea’s brightest stars such as Sung Si Kyung, of course, as well as Lee Juck, Akdong Musician‘s Suhyun, Kim Dong Ryul, Crush, Beenzino, Lim Kim, Kwon Jin Ah, and Sun Woo Jung Ah. The album is a fusion of Jazz, euro-pop, instrumentals, and with some 80’s styled melodies.
Despite the video being 8 minutes long, it has a unique storyline about 3 friends. They all fall in love, but out of that only 1 will be left brokenhearted. The video reminded me very much of Taeyang’s “Wedding Dress” and K.Will’s “Please Don’t,” because of that idea of being sent to live into oblivion known as “Friendzone,“ and truly upholding a life lesson and not a fantasy. The 8 minutes showcases the relationship over time and how it evolves.
What do you think of “Three People?” Are you anxious to hear more from Toy? Stay tuned for more details and updates!
