Triple H, consisting of PENTAGON‘s Hui and E’dawn plus HyunA, has made their hot return with a mini album ‘REtro Futurism‘ and the title track ‘Retro Future‘ on the 18th of this month. This is the group’s very first comeback after their debut with ‘365 FRESH‘ in May last year.
Just like its name suggests, ‘Retro Future‘ was inspired by the retro-futurism– a trend of depicting the future with creative art during the ‘Space Age’ (1950-1960). Thus, mimicking the musical styles from the old eras, the track makes use of a laid-back beat coupled with choppy synth sounds and funky guitars.
The choreography of the track is just as chill as the song itself. The moves are smooth, with no unnecessary exaggerations. More importantly, Triple H performs the whole thing so smoothly that it truly looks as though they are naturally grooving to the rhythm of the song instead of dancing to a memorized routine.
