It’s been a week since TVXQ released their comeback album ‘New Chapter #1: The Chance of Love‘ and title track ‘The Chance of Love’ and we’ve already been gifted with a second release, the cute track ‘Love Line’.
‘Love Line‘ is subtle and sentimental, with breezy percussion, subtle rhythmic strings, and smooth tropical synths that match the mellow vocals. The song is in a similar vein to the previous release ‘The Chance of Love’ and shows us a softer side of the pair. The combination of the performers’ vocals and the subtle music combine to give us an almost ethereal experience. The strength of this track is in the sense of restraint that is on display. It would be easy to over-sing and outshine the backing, but that’s why these two have survived for so long, they know exactly where to pitch their voices.
The biggest surprise of the accompanying music clip is a blonde Yunho! There doesn’t seem to be a firm plot to the music video which features a calming and relaxed blue and white colour scheme. However, it’s a perfect match to the relaxed and cute vibe of the song. The two performers are living in a beautiful, private home set in the midst of the ocean with a woman. It looks as though they are both trying to win her heart by flirting their way through the daily chores.
Interspersed into the scenes of domestic life, are dance sequences that feature Yunho and Changmin with a team of dancers. The choreography is smooth and sweeping with the two of them playing up to the camera with their winks and smiles.
