On June 9th, mega girl group TWICE released their first Korean comeback MV for 2021, ‘Alcohol-Free’. The song comes off the group’s upcoming 10th mini album, ‘Taste Of Love’.
The group’s upcoming EP will not be available until June 11th. If the above song is anything to go by, we might expect something a little different from the group this time round. Check out the MV down below!
TWICE ‘ALCOHOL-FREE’ MV:
Lyrically, the song relates the dizzying feeling of falling in love to feeling drunk even though no drinks were had. The track is definitely the group’s most “chill” sounding title track, instead opting of a lighter Bossa Nova inspired track that would fit nicely in a late summer night. Similarly, the choreography is more free-flowing and relaxed to reflect the feeling of captivation in the lyrics.
Watching the MV, it opens with the girls all standing in a line, introducing us to the track. With the signature JYP whisper featured at the beginning, we see the members relaxing on the beachside. With (non-alcoholic) beverages, the group look stunning in summery tops, wrap skirts, and shorts, fitting the exotic paradise vibe of the track. The other sets of the video include a brick red and green indoor hall, and a CG black and sliver zone. Both feature a huge cocktail glass in the background as the nonet dance in front. By the end of video, we see the sky turn to night as the group celebrate outside by the beach and bar. With sparklers and confetti floating, it concludes a magical music video. The final shot shows a ring dropping and bubbling into a tastefully blue drink.
