Serenading us in their newest music video while having fun, are sibling groups, UNIQ and Cosmic Girls. Both under Starship Entertainment and Yeuhua Entertainment as a collaboration between the Korean and Chinese music market, they are wishing you a ‘Happy New Year’!
UNIQ debuted in November of 2014 in China under Yeuhua. They released ‘Falling In Love’ in China and South Korea. The group consists of Zhou Yixuan, Kim SungJoo, Li Wenhan, Cho SeungYoun, and Wang Yibo. They joined up with Starship for their Korean debut in April of 2015 when they released their first mini album, ‘EOEO’.
Cosmic Girls has yet to make an official break into the industry but will have a dual debut in 2016. At this moment, they are still introducing the units on their Facebook. Only five out of the twelve girls participated in the music video, a girl to match each guy.
‘Happy New Year’ is not only the first music video for the two groups together but it’s also a happy one year anniversary gift from UNIQ to their Unicorns. The song has a season feel to it while being upbeat and joyful. The music video shows that the guys are looking for a place to celebrate, and with the help of a map, are able to find their secret hideout. After cleaning it up and decorating it for a New Year party, the five guys make a wish. As it starts to snow, the five girls show up and join in the festivities and in the song. After exchanging gifts and having a great time, they guys wake up to see that it was all a dream. This is such a cute music video, you really should check it out below.
There is just a version with UNIQ in it also.
I am such a fan of Starship and Yeuhua’s collaboration groups and looking forward to Cosmic Girls debut. How cute was UNIQ in the song? Tell us what you liked the most!
