If you are a K-Drama addict you’d better start preparing yourself for the upcoming month because June will be full of new dramas and big names.
One of the upcoming dramas is “A Faded Memory” – directed by Lee Jung Seob (“Ooh La La Couple,” “Glory Jane,” “Baker King Kim Tak Gu”)and written by Chae Seung Dae. The drama will tell the story of a man who loses his memory due to an accident. Ryu Soo Yeong (“My Princess,” “Bad Couple”), Nam Bora (“Shark,” “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”) and Yoo In Yeong (“The Snow Queen,” “Dummy Mommy”) have been casted for “A Faded Memory.” The drama will begin airing on June 12th.
Second on the list is “The Queen’s Classroom” featuring Julien Kang (“To the Beautiful You,” “Twelve Man in a Year”), Ko Hyeon Jeong (“Big Thing,” “Queen Seon-deok”) and more. The drama was created by Lee Dong Yoon (“The Greatest Love,” “Special Investigation Team”) and Kim Won Seok (“Monstar,” “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”) and will revolve around the story about a self-righteous and never smiling teacher and a cold female student who spend a year in conflicts and quarrels. “The Queen’s Classroom” is set for June 12th.
Another drama, planned for June 19th, is titled “My Friend’s Still Alive.” The drama is a work of Lee Eung Bok and Ko Jeong Won who have already worked together for “School 2013” and “Running, Goo.” The drama will focus on Chi-hyeon (played by Lee Joo Seung) and Myeong Soo (played by Kim Chang Hwan) who are best friends and take care of Kyeong Sook (played by BEAST‘s Lee Kikwang) who has leukemia. For his last wish, Kyeong Sook wants to kiss his first love for the first time and while they look for his opponent, they find out that Gook Hwa from the next school succeeds in hooking her up with Kyeong Sook. However, Chi Hyeon starts becoming jealous of Kyeong Sook and Gook Hwa…
If you are a fan of Jeong Min Jin (“Panda and Hedgehog,” “Pacemaker”) or Soo Jin (“Shark,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows”) you will probably like “Eun Hee” as well. The drama talks about the up and down romance of a young men and a women as well as the fate and reconciliation between three families. “Eun Hee” will begin airing on June 24th.
On June 29th drama titled “Goddess of Marriage” will begin airing on SBS. The drama will focus on four different couples with four different stories. Not much is known about the cast for the drama so far. Only the fact that actress Lee Ah Rin (“Rascal Sons,” “Dancing Queen”) will take on of the main roles.
“Scandal” is a drama that focuses on a passionate sergeant Ha Eun Jung who meets Woo Ah Mi and gets involved in a scandal. He later finds out that his father is actually a kidnapper who kidnapped him when he was young. The cast includes names such as Jo Yoon Hee (“Nine: Time Travelling Nine Times,” “Lie to Me”), Kim Jae Won (“May Queen,” “Can You Hear My Heart?”) and Jo Jae Hyun (“The Influence,” “Syndrome”). The exact day of the release is yet to be announced.
Next drama worth waiting for is titled “Can We Love?” and features the popular child actors Kim So Hyeon (“Missing You,” “IRIS 2”) and Yeo Jin Goo (“Missing You,” “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”) as well as Yoon Sang Hyeon (“Secret Garden,” “My Fair Lady”). More details about the drama are yet to be revealed.
Director Kim Seong Yoon (“Big,” “Dream High”) and writter Kim Bo Yeon (“Sorry I’m Late”) knows that dramas revolving around the high school students are still very popular, so that’s why they are currently working on “Adolescence Madley” that is set to be released somewhen in June. Kwak Dong Yeon (“Jang Ok Jeong,” “My Husband Got a Family”), Lee Se Yeong (“Missing You,” “The Great King’s Dream”), Park Jeong Min (“Golden Time,” “Dancing Queen”) and Choi Tae Joon (“The King of Dramas,” “Pacemaker”) are only few of the names that were casted for the drama.
June will mark a comeback of actress Moon Geun Yeong (“Cheongdamdong Alice,” “Cinderella’s Sister”) who joined the cast of “Goddess of Fire Jeongi.” The historical drama deals with the fancy life and love of Baek Pa Seon, the Choun’s first female dish-maker. True character Baek Pa Seon rose to the highest position as the best pottery maker but was taken to Japan during the Japanese Invasion and promoted Chosun’s pottery making. The exact date of the first airing is yet to be announced.
