VIXX has teamed up with Double Kick for Deux‘s 20th anniversary album and sat down with LOEN Music for a short interview expressing their thoughts on this special collaboration.
The group’s leader, N, shared, “I think Deux are the singers who made VIXX to dance as well so we are honored, and we re-enacted their performances before and we learned a lot during that time.” Rapper Ravi said, “When I was little, I learned from their dance on internet. They are even better than the singers today so I watched them dance and tried to follow their steps as well.”
He then described their cover song that is a result of working with Korean hitmaker, Double Kick: “The original song is really good and we got to work with Double Kick. I think it became a more colorful song so you can feel new feelings.”
Double Kick explained their new arrangement of Deux’s song, stating, “I didn’t want to touch the song too much but I wanted to make it suits these days better. We used more dubstep and electronics, and we didn’t touch much on the original melody line and worked carefully.”
Additionally, Ravi brought a new version of the rap part putting his own style into the song.
VIXX and Double Kick’s song, titled “Turn Around and Look at Me” is a remake of Deux’s debut song that made a big impact on the music industry in the 90s.
