It seems the K-pop wave has even made it’s way into Japanese culture.
Manifest 2012 was held from August 17 to 19 in Melbourne, Australia. Manifest stands for Melbourne Anime Festival and is Melbourne’s version of Comic-Con. The crowd at the anime convention was hyped up when a group of participating cosplayers started dancing to PSY’s hit single, ‘Gangnam Style’.
The flash mob quickly gathered the attention of other attendees who seemed to really enjoy the song and truly tickled by the dancers’ reenactment of funny parts from the viral music video. They also covered the elevator scene which especially garnered some of the biggest laughs from the crowd.
It’s nice to see how K-pop can unite people from different cultures. Check out the video below:
