Shinhwa appeared as guests on KBS‘ “Happy Together” and shared many stories of their 15-year old career. Member Dongwan revealed why he went from an young flower boy image to an aged muscle man.
During the first years of Shinhwa’s activity, Dongwan was the most popular member of the group with his fresh flower boy image. However, as time passed by, that young innocent teenager was replaced with a muscular man which upset many fans.
Kim Dongwan explained: “The reason why I started building muscles is because of my ex-girlfriend. My girlfriend then didn’t like my skinny image. After I broke up with her, I suddenly decided to exercise and get bigger.”
