The moment every Inner Circle has been waiting for, Winner has officially returned and they sound amazing! Not to mention they look amazing as well.
For the first time in YG Entertainment history, three music videos have dropped at once and it just seems fitting with this being Winner’s first comeback since debut. Leading up to this glorious comeback, there were multiple teaser images, an entry single with ‘사랑가시 (Pricked)’, individual teaser films that were like movie trailers themselves, multiple covers of two of the title tracks from various artists within and outside of YG, and the behind-the-scenes videos.
That’s a lot but for those who have been waiting for the five members to finally come back, it was well worth it and it isn’t even over yet. When Winner dropped the poster to announce ‘EXIT:E’ there was three more dates to follow. One can only wonder what is up their sleeve next, but only Taehyun, Mino, Jinwoo, Seungyoon, and Seunghoon would know.
‘Baby Baby’ has a slow rock sound that has a classic feel to it. The video gives a sense of how lonely it can be to be a popular musician. Whether you are feeling alone in a crowd full of people, try to find solace in questionable companionship to ease the loneliness, or miss days that were much simpler, the five men display their acting skills while their harmonies and strong vocals set the mood for the video.
Shot from above in a unique and abstract way, ‘센치해 (Sentimental)’ has a distinct YG feel. Keeping with the musician vibe, the video shows the five members in various rooms that are equipped with instruments and they can be seen tinkering with them throughout. The music is quite catchy and though not as mellow as ‘Baby Baby’ still carries those harmonies with a dash of more rap.
Taking on a solo track, ‘I’m Young’ is the work of Taehyun and a continuation of his storyline in ‘Baby Baby’. It is most definitely a ballad that showcases his vocals in a wonderful way. In the video, he has returned back to his ex-girlfriend’s place and the tension can be felt among the two while reminiscing of better days through flashbacks along with why they possibly broke up.
All three music videos and songs each have their own charm and are so good. I couldn’t even pick which one would be a favourite but there is one thing that I am for certain about, I am glad to be an Inner Circle. Now I am anxious to see what else is to come! Which one was your favourite? We definitely want to know!
