WINNER have made their much anticipated comeback with the album ‘EVERYD4Y‘ and the title track ‘Everyday‘. ‘EVERYD4Y‘ is the group’s second studio album and their first full album since 2014’s ‘2014 S/S‘.
The title track ‘Everyday’ is described as a pop, trap fusion song. It was composed by Kang Seung Yoon and Song Mino together with AiRPLAY. The lyrics were written by Kang Seung Yoon, Song Mino and Lee Seung Hoon.
The track itself is another rehash of the now over-used trap genre. The song surrounds the vocals in Auto-Tune for much of the time, except the pre-chores when we are allowed to hear Seung Yoon and Jinwoo sing in their natural voices – which is easily my favourite part of this track. It’s also a percussion heavy track which is a great counter to the ‘swag’ of this song.
Having said that, I do love this track, and I’m a fan of WINNER for branching out and being experimental with their sound.
The music video was directed by American Dave Meyers and sees the group surrounded by beautiful women while they relax in various settings. It almost feels like you’re watching an American hip-hop music video, which I’m not too sure is a good thing.

The reason I love K-pop is it’s fresh vitality and originality. I personally don’t want to see my beloved K-pop become a disciple of the American music machine, with this track WINNER seems to be trying too hard to copy American rappers of the past.
What do you think of WINNER‘s track ‘Everyday‘? What are your thoughts on the music video? Have you listened to their album ‘EVERYD4Y‘ yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
