On September 14th, male soloist WONHO released the music video to his newest title track, ‘BLUE’. This come simultaneously with his 2nd mini album, ‘Blue Letter’. Containing 7 tracks, the former MONSTA X member penned all tracks except the intro track, ‘Seasons and Patterns’. The EP also contains a full English version of the title track, showing his appreciation for global fans.
‘BLUE’ talks about the fluttering feelings and chemistry between two people have on one night. The poppy instrumental features the standard drum and faint funky guitar. The singer’s vocalist’s smooth tone is spotlighted particularly in the chorus with the brisk constant pace of each syllable. A synth led post-bridge breakdown leaves a feel good vibe through the track as we hear isolated vocals to conclude the song cleanly.

WONHO ‘BLUE’ MV:
The music video centres around the artist practicing drills for the final as part of the school’s football team. Dressed in the usual jock football uniform, we see the team win the match and gain the coveted gold trophy. Winding down, the singer exposes his chiseled figure and begins to wash his convertible. Driving into the sunset, the video cuts to a night shopfront. Meeting a girl in their eyes, there is a certain attraction bringing them closer. Grabbing her hand, they run together as the video ends with the couple looking out to a fireworks display.
The more lighthearted nature of this video contrasts against the artist’s usual overtly sexier and darker charm. However, it seems fitting as South Korea enters the Spring season.
WONHO‘s 2nd mini album, ‘Blue Letter’, featuring the title track, ‘BLUE’ is available now!
