Kim Junsu, (also known by the stage name XIA Junsu), a current member of the boy band JYJ and former member of the idol group TVXQ, has seen tremendous success in the Asian music market as a band member and soloist.
XIA Junsu has reportedly invested 12.9 billion won ($12 million) into his yet to be opened, 80,000-square-foot family hotel on Jejudo Island. Junsu started the Toscana Hotel project in 2011, received permission to build in November 2012, and construction has been underway since April 2013. Slated to officially open its doors to the public in March 2014, the hotel is expected to increase the number of international tourists and serve as a venue to experience K-pop and Hallyu.
The Toscana Hotel will be operated and managed by Junsu’s father. It is a large scale resort-style hotel located in the Gangjeong-dong, Seogwipo area of the island. It will include 65 guest rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, cafe, spa, seminar room and many other facilities. In order to cement its place as an entertainment hotspot Junsu wants future guest to experience the Korean music industry. He intends to host a number of star-filled K-Pop events which may include autograph sessions, b-boy dance shows and local Korean bands.
The idol star released his second solo Korean studio album, Incredible, in July 2013. The title track of the same name marked Kim’s first ever English track in which he collaborated with the iconic American musician and music producer Quincy Jones.
